Cooking with Suzanne Husseini

January 11, 2011

I had the pleasure of attending a cooking demonstration by Suzanne Husseini today. Suzanne reminds me of Nigella Lawson. Her passion and love for food and its preparation are immediately obvious. Suzanne cooks and shares her passion with pleasure. Her philosophy mimics mine so well. I got the feeling that like me, Suzanne really wants to share her love for cooking with everyone she meets and her passion is definitely contagious. She firmly believes that a little of everything is good for you and is totally against artificial, chemically enhanced additives. Suzanne is an advocate for real food, cooked by real people in real kitchens. She gets stuck in with her hands and makes cooking appear effortless and tremendously satisfying. She cooked and we tasted a lovely green salad bejewelled with pomegranate seeds, a Chicken Tarragon Salad, Zucchini Fritters and Crepes stuffed with ricotta and strawberries and lightly flavoured with a rosewater infused sugar syrup. Suzanne put her own Arab stamp on the dishes and even tried teaching us non- Arabic speakers a few arabic words. All in all a fantastic morning spent in the company of food lovers in Dubai, including fellow Dubai food blogger Sarah Walton of
